Makes me smile, though. :o) I think this will be a part of my *Letter* universe, for no particular reason. »*« »*« »*« »*« »*« »*« »*« »*« »*« »*« »*« »*« »*« Alex watched as Mulder flew through the sky. He reached the end of his momenteum and it seemed as though he hung suspended at that point for an endless moment; sun lighting him perfectly, making his hair shine a brilliant gold. But as lovely and warm as the sun was, it was no where near as bright as the laughing smile on his face. Alex captured the picture in his mind, storing it away with his other happy memories. And then Mulder carrened backwards to the earth. Alex soon followed. "Haha!! I can swing *way* higher than you!" Mulder laughed. Alex smiled fondly at the kindergarden remark, so unusual coming from Mulder. He pumped his legs harder, determined to keep up with his love, lest he hear about Mulder's great swinging truimph for the rest of their lives. Each time he rose into the air the sun glared into his eyes. But not even temporary blindness could ruin such a perfect afternoon. The first warm day of the spring, and Mulder skipped out of work early to take a walk in the park with him. The two had passed the playground, empty of children due to the realitivly early hour. The lure of the swingset was irresistable to the men. The scent of spring in the air was making them feel more like over- grown boys, and they had clambored through the wood chips and jumped onto the sun-warmed plastic seats. And now Alex was matching Mulder swing for swing, and he turned to Mulder with a smug grin on his face. Mulder, sensing a tie or possible defeat, suddenly lurched his weight to the side, knocking Alex. "Hey! No one said we were playing... oww... Bumper Cars!" "Now we are!" His momentum had shifted, and he had gained a pendulous motion, banging against Alex regularly. "Ooof! Hey! C'mon! Someone's going to get hurt!" "You were always the dorky kid who followed all the rules, huh Alex?" "No. I just grew up. But I sense you were the kid who always ran around the playgroud like a maniac and knocked the other kids down." "You're just chicken. Baawk! Baawk! Baawk!" The next time Mulder smacked Krycek and sent him flying backwards, Krycek was prepared. He used the motion to gain speed and threw his weight to the side and flew towards Mulder. Unfortunatly, Mulder was unprepared for the sudden participation, and fell off the swing and into the woodchips with a great *whump!* Alex's mouth hung open as he slowed his swing to a stop and stared at Mulder. Mulder, who was sitting on the ground with a look of shock on his face, quite like a toddler who can't understand why they've suddenly fallen, and is wondering whether or not it's an opportunity to cry. Mulder, quite like a toddler, decided any opportunity for sympathy (and possible cookies) was a good one, and whined out, "Allleeexxx!" Krycek dismounted his swing, and squatted down next to Mulder. "I told you someone'd get hurt." Mulder pouted. Alex sighed, and helped Mulder up off the ground. "All right, I'm sorry. Do you want me to kiss it better?" Mulder nodded. "Where does it hurt?" Mulder pointed to his backside, which still had wood-chips clinging to it. Krycek smiled. "Well, I think we'll have to go home to do that." "Sounds good to me," Mulder replied. Krycek, seeing an opportunity to touch Mulder's ass in public, took time to thoroughly brush the woodchips off the seat of Mulder's pants. Then Mulder took his hand, and began pulling him in the direction of home. "Fox?" Mulder stopped. "Yes?" "Can I take a ride down the slide before we go?" Mulder smiled. "Only if I can ride with you." Krycek, hand still linked with Mulder's, began pulling him towards the slide. "Of course you can. Everything's always better when I do it with you." "What did you do before me?" "I was miserable and lonely." Mulder leaned forward and kissed Alex behind his ear. "I love you." "I love you too." »*« »*« End »*« »*« I was listening to this while writing. I didn't realize how appropriate it was until I finished writing and started paying attention to the lyrics. I think some of it seeped into the story. :o) When I see you sky as a kite as high as I might I can't get that high but how you move the way you burst the clouds makes me want to try and when I see you sticky as lips as licky as trips I can't lick that far and when you pout the way you shout out loud it makes me want to start and when I see you happy as a girl and zooms a world of magic shows it makes me bite my fingers through to make me think I could have let you go and when I see you take the same few steps you used to take as I see I'll keep on holding you my arms so tight I'll never let you slip away and when I see you kitten as a cat yeah smitten as that I can't get that small the way you fur the how you purr it makes me want to paw you all and when I see you as happy as a girl and lips a world of make believing makes me want to pull my hair all out to think I could have let you leave and when I see you take the same few steps you used to take I know I keep on holding you your arms so tired they'll never let you go.
